Summer 2
Year 4 have had a great second half term. The most exciting bit so far has been our trip to Phasels Wood. We took part in some amazing activities such as Aeroball, Zip Wire, the Climbing Wall, Pedal Racers, Cresta Run and much more.
We also got to roast Marshmallows over our own fire as well as explore the woods around our accomodation. Have a look at our pictures below...
Summer 1
Year 4 have bounced right back after their two week break and got straight into their learning. We have been doing lots of exciting things both in and outside the classroom.
Science
Our Science topic this half term is 'Animals Including Humans.' We have been learning all about teeth and why we need them as well as the workings of our digestive system.... Have a look at the pictures of us trying to make a model of it!
Maths
Maths can be really tricky in Year 4 but luckily we have lots of concrete resources to help us out! In Maths we have been learning about different types of measurement. We were a little unsure of what capacity and the correct the weight for different things were so with a little bit of water for capacity, a few mysterious weights wrapped in tissue paper and a few different bits and bobs we did an investigation to find out...
Spring Term 1
Year 4 have made a fantastic start to this term. Our first week back was 'Take One Picture' week. We examined a picture from the National Gallery called George and the Dragon and did lots of exciting art work based on it.
We even got a visit from Amey's Zoo who brought in real life dragons for us to learn about and touch. It was an amazing week and lots of brilliant art work was produced.

Autumn Term 2
The children have nearly made it through the first full term in Year 4 and we have had a lot of fun learning about loads of exciting new things.
Viking Bread
During their Viking Topic the children got to make some tasty Viking Bread. They worked so well as part of team to make something they were incredibly proud of and got to share at home with their friends and families.

Year 4 have made a fantastic start to this school year. We have already been taking part in so many exciting things and we are looking forward to the rest of this term.
Children In Need
Year 4 have had a fantastic day raising money for Children In Need. They dressed up as Heroes or Pudsy-fied themselves in order to donate to such a great cause.

Maths
Year 4 have been learning all about Fractions and so to get a better understanding of what they're all about they were given the chance to explore a range of concrete resources. They found out loads about equivalent fractions and got to make and find out more about them.

Science
Year 4's Science topic this half term is Sound. They have shown amazing knowledge and enthusiasm throughout this topic and as a result have completed some brilliant child-led investigations. They made some fantastic ear muffs to test out which material would block out the sound of the noisy Year 3s next door ;) and they have found out all about Pitch using a collection of unusual instruments.
