“Where Learning Comes Alive”

The Great Run

Yesterday, George Street took part in the virtual  'The Great Run'. Year 1 and 2 were timed by eager Year 5 children over a distance of 300m, 3 laps of the whole playground. The children were fired up and run with determination and huge smiles.
The fastest girls were Lilly J (Year 1) and Trisha (Year 2)
Finley (Year 1) and Matei (Year 2) were the leading boys!

Year 3 and 4 had to double that distance and run 600m. 6 long laps of the playground! Again the enthusiastic children made this look easy as they sped around the course!

Winning for the girls were Cassie (Year 3) and Rashida (Year 4).
The fastest boys were Blake (Year 3) and Sullivan (Year 4).

These results will be sent of to Clare McCawley at the Dacorum School Sports Network and will be compared with other schools in the district. We could be district winners! We will also total the times to see which House Team is the fastest, the Sports House Cup will be awarded in Friday's assembly to the winning team.

All the children were running super stars and the Sports Crew were a great help cheering on and helping the children to complete the distance. Well done everyone!
Due to the government announcement school will be closed to everyone on Tuesday 5th January and will re-open to key worker and vulnerable children from Wednesday 6th January. Further information and guidance will follow shortly.
