“Where Learning Comes Alive”

Year 1

Welcome to Year 1's class page.  This is the place to see what we've been up to in our lessons!

Here is our class newsletter for the Spring term.  It has all the information you will need for this term.
The first weeks of this half term children in Year 1 have been learning about measurements. The lessons were full of exciting activities where children could practically learn about length, mass and speed and use comparative vocabulary to discuss the length, weight and speed.

Where learning comes alive in year 1 Maths lesson!

PE lessons are all about multi-skills and dance. Children have learnt how to work as a team while practising dance routines and mastering their ball skills. Every lesson is vivid and creative and children always enjoy our PE on  Tuesday and Friday!

Excellent Year 1 Sport Team!

We have learnt about shapes this term and explored Vassilij Kandinsky's art in terms of how to use shapes in our creativity. Have a look at some of the works and admire our young artists!
We are learning about materials and their properties! In this lesson we investigated which materials are absorbent and which are not. We have followed  all scientific enquiries by making predictions, carrying out an experiment and recording our findings.
Due to the government announcement school will be closed to everyone on Tuesday 5th January and will re-open to key worker and vulnerable children from Wednesday 6th January.
