F1
F1 Spring Term
Week 1
Welcome back to George Street for Spring Term, we hope you have had a lovely break.
We are starting this term by reading the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
We will be retelling the story in a variety of ways throughout the week and introducing story props so that the children can act out the story themselves.
In the afternoon we will explore how caterpillars turn into butterflies by moving our bodies in different ways; crouching low as the egg, wriggling like a caterpillar and flying like a butterfly.
We will continue reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar next week.
We are also playing some speedy maths games this term. This week we are playing Simon Says and practising counting in order whilst doing actions. “Simon Says tap your tummy 5 times”.
We are also focusing on how the number given represents a set and that anything can be counted, not just objects. "Tap your tummy, clap your hands, pat your head".
