Reception, KS1 and KS2 In-year Admissions

Admissions

Our Pupil Admission Number is currently 30.  We follow the terms of the Hertfordshire Local Education Authority’s admission policy to accommodate children from within our local area wherever possible.  Hertfordshire Local Authority is responsible for the allocation of places in schools for children of primary school age, with children joining the reception class in the September before their fifth birthday.  In the Autumn prior to this, there is an opportunity to tour the school, meet the staff and find out more about George Street.

If you would like to apply for a place outside the normal admission times then please visit -

https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/services/schools-and-education/school-admissions/in-year-admissions-change-schools-during-the-year/in-year-admissions-change-school-during-the-year.aspx   which will take you to the in-year admission applications.

As a Hertfordshire community school we follow the Hertfordshire County Council admissions rules for our school.   Rules are applied in order.

All schools and academies must admit a child with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan that names the school.

Further details can be found at –

https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/services/schools-and-education/school-admissions/primary-junior-and-middle-schools/primary-junior-and-middle-school-places.aspx

Rule 1 – children looked after

Rule 2 – medical or social needs

Rule 3 – siblings at the school

Rule 4 – child's nearest school

Rule 5 – children living closest to school (distance)

If you are interested in applying for a place at our nursery, please see the information in the nursery admissions section of the website.
