Maths

Throughout the term, the children will explore number and the number system further. They will focus on applying this understanding confidently in a variety of mental and written mathematical problems. They will further develop their understanding of +, -, x and ÷.

In addition, the children will also focus on areas such as shape, and understanding fractions, measures and statistics. It is vital that children continue practising their times tables, even though our focus for this half term is the Addition Challenge. 

We are already working hard to help children become more fluent in solving problems mentally, but as always, additional practice at home will go far in supporting children to make good progress.
