OUR CLASS

In Year 2 our class is made up of Mrs Hemmings who is the class teacher and Miss Horn the class teaching assistant. We also have a lovely team of support staff who also help the children: Mrs Martell, Miss Corley, Miss Thompson and Miss Higgs. We are a lively class who are eager to learn and strive to do our very best.

Notices:

PE is every Monday morning. Your child will need their PE kit consisting of black shorts / jogging bottoms, their colour t-shirt and suitable shoes. 

Every Friday morning we invite parents / carers into class to read a story with your child. 

Forest School is every Friday afternoon, please bring in a pair of wellie boots for your child to wear as their school shoes will get dirty when the weather is wet.

WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO THIS TERM

In maths, we have spent time looking at the value of digits in a two digit number. The children have made the number using Base 10 equipment and then progressed to drawing what the number looks like as a pictorial representation. 

In English, we have been learning lots about Africa. The class have spent time exploring different African countries as well as immersing themselves in lots of different types of writing from poetry to persuasion.
