ISLE OF WIGHT 2017!

Monday 22nd May - Arrived safely in the Isle of Wight at around 11am and headed straight to the zoo.  Everyone enjoyed checking out their favourite animals!  Headed to the hotel where the children were shown their rooms.  They're all being well looked after in the hotel especially as they are the only ones staying there!  Everyone is enjoying the food and are very well fed!  Took a while for them to settle down to sleep because they were so excited!

Tuesday 23rd May - Visited Blackgang Chine, where the children were completely spooked out in the haunted house!  None of them had ever been on a waterslide in the dark and were slightly apprehensive, but they all braved it and had great fun!  From there, they headed to Alum Bay to explore the coastal erosions, they took the chairlift down and the scenery was amazing.  Later that evening they enjoyed the 'Wild show' everyone was singing and clapping and having a fantastic time.  Didn't take long to settle this evening, everyone was asleep by 10pm ready for another fun packed day tomorrow!

Wednesday 23rd May -  Another busy day with glorious sunshine! Very excited children as they headed to the beach for watersports!  They all had a great time surfing in their wetsuits! The instructors were fantastic.  After lunch they went to Shanklin Chine where they chatted to some parrots and enjoyed the best ice-cream ever!  It was a very long walk back down to the beach but the scenery was amazing. After dinner, they explored the beach some more, did some paddling and played football.  All slept well, not a sound from anyone tonight, everyone exhausted! All looking forward to Robin Hill Country Park and Dinosaur Isle tomorrow.

Thursday 24th May - We went to Robin Hill Country Park and had a great time. Beautiful scenery, rides, activity trails, 4D cinema etc. Was lovely seeing the children all getting on and helping each other along the way. It's been very hot again today as it has been all week. Absolutely glorious weather. We couldn't have asked for better! We went on Colossus which was a pirate ship. Everyone (only a couple of kids didn't go) loved it. Some went on twice, including teachers! Dinosaur Isle in afternoon. Informative talk by paleontologist and geologist. Fossil hunting on the beach. Then back to beach after dinner for one last dip in the sea. Back to pack.  Everyone was tired and ready for bed!

Friday 25th May - Everyone ok this morning up bright and early ready for the last day and journey home. They are visiting HMS Warrior this morning at Portsmouth Docks and learning lots about this ship.  The staff are very knowledgeable explaining how cannons work etc. After lunch everyone will be back on the coach ready for the journey home.  Expected back at 4:30 pm depending on traffic.
