We have been learning all about The Great Fire of London in Year One, as part of this we re created our own Great Fire of London with the help of the local firemen. It was a fantastic morning and the children all loved seeing the houses they had made set on fire. It was brilliant to see the children so excited by this event and it really bought their learning to life. The children also got to have a look around the fire engine and also had a go at spraying the hose.
A HUGE THANK YOU
We would just like to say a big thank you for all your support with the children's home learning. The standard of the homework so far this year has been outstanding and it has been lovely to see the children so excited by it. All the support with learning at home is having a great impact in class so thank you!
The children loved the Animal Arc visit this week. They got to see a range of small animals which included rabbits, chickens, sugar gliders, a tortoise and some Guinea Pigs. All of the children enjoyed stroking the animals and some were even brave enough to try and feed them. The children enjoyed learning all about these animals and how to care for them.
We have had a super time during the first few weeks of Year One. The children have all settled in well and are enjoying the new and exciting things Year One has to offer. This half term our topic "Magnificent me" will help us all get to know each other, from our likes and dislikes, to learning all about our bodies and senses. Keep checking our class web page for regular updates and posts about what we have been up to!
