To finish our topic off we had a Chinese New year day. During the day we got to try some yummy Chinese food and do lots of Chinese New Year crafts. In the afternoon the Children's parents came into school and together we all made dragon masks. It was lovely to see so many parents involved and the children really enjoyed sharing the afternoon with them.
Thank you to all of the parents who attended, it was lovely to see you all!
Dragon Visit at George Street
A dragon came to George Street and surprised us in Year 1. We then created our own news reports to explain what happened. Have a look at some of our reports!
We have been trying really hard in Year 1 to become maths masters. We have been really getting involved with maths puzzles and challenges and using our knowledge of numbers to help us solve them. Our understanding of maths is getting better each week!
The Great Fire of London comes to George Street
We have been learning all about The Great Fire of London in Year One, as part of this we re created our own Great Fire of London with the help of the local firemen. It was a fantastic morning and the children all loved seeing the houses they had made set on fire. It was brilliant to see the children so excited by this event and it really bought their learning to life. The children also got to have a look around the fire engine and also had a go at spraying the hose.
Animal Arc Visit
The children in Year 1 loved our animal Arc visit. They really enjoyed being able to feed some of the animals and find out how they are cared for.
WE ARE YEAR 1
Welcome back! Don't forget it's celebration assembly on Friday 23rd February at 2.35 - everyone is welcome.
