Year 3 - 4 Football Tournament
On Wednesday 2nd April Saahil, Harry, Frankie, Sam, Connor and Daniel from Year 3 and Leon, Zachary, Harry and Sonny from Year 4 represented George Street in the Year 3 - 4 tournament at Cavendish.  The boys played fantastically as a team and acted on the advice given by Mr Merrett.  They lost to
Bridgewater 0-1, drew against Holtsmere End 0-0 and then went on to beat Leverstock Green 1-0 and
St Cuthbert Mayne 2-0.  Unfortunately they didn't quite make it into the next round.     Mr Merrett and Miss Goldup were incredibly proud of the boys' attitude and conduct during the afternoon.  Well done boys!

Year 5 - 6 Football Tournament

On Tuesday 1st April Ashton, Conner, Ethan, Calum and Jack in Year 5 and Callum and Callum in Year 6 represented George Street in the Year 5 - 6 tournament at Cavendish.  We were disappointed that Sam M was unable to play as he had an injury from rugby.  The boys drew their first match against Brockswood but unfortunately lost the next four matches so did not qualify for the next round.

Tag Rugby
On Monday 24th March Frankie, Jack V, Alfie and Harry from Year 3; Riyan, Cian and Marshall from
Year 4 and Ashton, Calum, Julius, Traijan, Conner and Ethan from Year 5 went to Hobletts Manor to play Tag Rugby.  Both schools had two teams and they played eight matches altogether.  The boys played incredibly well, winning two matches 6:5 and 5:2 and drawing two matches 9:9 and 5:5.  There was very little difference in the number of tries scored in the matches lost.  Well done boys.  We are very proud of you!

Sport Relief
On Friday 21st March the children wore sports clothes to school and ran a mile for Sport Relief.  We were really impressed with their sportsmanship and determination.   Every child took part, even those with broken arms!  A special thank you to Caitlyn, Sophie, Bridie, Elena, Ethan and Ashton for helping the younger children to complete the course.  Well done also to Star for running a 10 minute mile!  It was amazing to see the support and encouragement the children gave to each other.  We are very proud of them.

Well done to all the children in F1 who completed their own special jumping event!

Rugby
A special well done to Lewis E in Year 1 who received a certificate this week for "The best effort in training".  He is following in his brother and sister's footsteps and has started training with Hemel Stags.  Well done Lewis!

Tag Rugby
On Monday 17th March Hobletts Manor visited us to play Tag Rugby.  Our Tag Rugby skills are really improving!  Well done to all the children who played and thank you to the staff and parents who came to support us.  We will be playing Hobletts Manor again when we visit them next week.  Well done to Ashton and Conner R for being recognised as Man of the Match!

Football Match
On Thursday 6th March the 3/4 football team played Hobletts Manor away.  This was their first match.  Hobletts Manor were a very strong side and won the match.  Thank you to the parents and families who came to support them.

Gymnastics
We are very proud of LIzzie in Year 6 who came second in a national gymnastic competition.  You can read a report of her day in "Lizzie the gymnast" below.

Tag Rugby Tournament
On Thursday 27th February 30 children from Years 5 and 6 represented George Street at the Tag Rugby Tournament at Camelot.  Unfortunately none of the teams reached the semi finals but the resilience and sportsmandship of all the players was commendable.

We are pleased to announce that Callum D and Caitlyn J have been chosed to be our Sports Ambassadors for this coming year.
