Sullivan and Connor in Year 6 have been selected as George Street School's Sports Ambassadors. They had to complete an application for the role and pass a gruelling interview process.
Both Sully and Connor are full of ideas of how to improve sport at George Street and they will be helping the staff promote healthy lifestyles at school. We are very proud of them and the hard work they do around the school!
They are already making a big impact on sport at George Street by running an after school multi-sports club for Years 1,2 and 3 children.
Sully and Connor have an exciting year in store. Their plan to improve the way that sports work in school will be to promote house competitions in new sports - cricket, rounders, basketball and tennis; create an expanded sports crew - gearing children in Year 4 and Year 5 up, ready to step into their shoes; promote competition between members of the sports crew and set up their new page on the school website, and frequently update their new twitter account with sports at George Street.
They will receive their Bronze Ambassador training by the DSSN, so we look forward to see the impact this will have at on sport at George Street.
One of the many tasks as a Sports Ambassadors the boys have to create their own notice board. They display sporting events and competitions they have run. The boys have worked with Mr Griffiths to design and create their own sports board - building on the great work from Sports Ambassadors of previous years.
